What is Life Coaching?

Life Coaching is a method of working together, one on one or in groups, to dramatically improve all areas of your life, creating a life of balance and of choice. It helps you to achieve the results you want, both personally and professionally in less time and with greater ease than you could on your own.

 

How does coaching work?

Life coaching encompasses a range of practices from mentoring and time management to personal growth and development. As a coach, I provide guidance, practical tips and resources, as well structures to help you take consistent action towards achieving your goals, because it is only through action that we can change our lives.


Coaching sessions are between 30 minutes and an hour. Together, we schedule appointments to suit your needs. You may choose what you want to work on and lead the call, or follow a program I develop for you. This is your life, your business and your valuable time. As your coach, I will ask questions, make requests, and challenge you to reach your goals. E-mail support is available between sessions.

 

What’s the difference between a coaching and therapy or counselling?

Coaching and therapy can be used separately or together. They both can help you to build a strong foundation for your life, but have a few fundamental differences. Therapy helps you to untangle your past and to heal emotional pains and bring closure to troubling events. Coaching looks at where your life is at right now. It focuses on the present, and assists you in moving forward using to a more fulfilling and balanced future. Coaches are collaborators, rather than specialists. Unlike therapists, they do not diagnose mental disorders.

 

Why are session held over the phone?

70–80% of coaches work with their clients over the phone. Having a bit of personal space during sessions allows you, as a client, room to express yourself more fully, stretch a little further, and take bigger risks. This is all fuel for quicker and easier change. Telephone sessions also negate travel time, (important for busy schedules) and removes any geographical barriers.

 

How do I choose a life coach?
The coaching relationship is intimate - you must feel trusting and safe with your coach. The best way to choose a Life Coach is with a trial session, which is why I offer a free 30-minute sample session with no obligation to continue.
